Product Analysis Reports & Positive Material Identification

Lindquist Steels can provide comprehensive technical information for each piece and grade of steel we stock.  We will certify any piece of steel and supply mill certification and heat numbers if required.  As well a complete bar coded history of the material while it was in our warehouse.

Should there be a need we can also have a detailed chemical and physical analysis performed on any material. 

Lindquist is also the first distributor to offer “Positive Material Identification.”  At Lindquist we only purchase material from ISO certified mills and other approved vendors.  We never accept material without complete mill certification and other appropriate documentation. 

However, we don't stop our quality control there.  Lindquist employs the use of several Niton Alloy Analyzers that quickly and accurately give a positive material identification.  These analyzers are certified and also offer lab quality chemical analysis of material to be used as another quality assurance measure.

Bar Coding

At Lindquist, every individual piece of steel in our extensive inventory is identified with a color code and a bar code. Our customized bar code system is extremely efficient for Lindquist and our customers in that it enables us to:

  • Provide complete piece history
  • Ensure accurate material grade & dimensions
  • Location of material
  • Quickly identify every piece and size in stock
  • Fulfill orders precisely and quickly

Cutting Capabilities

Lindquist Steels has a wide range of cutting capabilities.  All orders are cut oversize, unless specified otherwise, by our highly trained saw technicians.  We operate over 25 high precision circular and band saws.  Many of our saws feature the very latest high-speed automatic cutting capabilities.   We offer 12-foot plate cutting right down the smallest most intricate single piece cutting required.

Grinding Capabilities

Lindquist can have almost any order precision ground to a specified tolerance.  We can have material Blanchard, Surface, or Centerless ground. 

Most grinding jobs can be done "In-House" with our own equipment or by one of our contracted grinding houses.  Lindquist can provide your company with a competitive edge by supplying material pre-ground and ready to finish machine.  Please speak with one our inside sales representatives to review your grinding options.

Heat Treating & Surface Treatments

Utilizing the correct grade of tool steel in conjunction with the proper heat treatment and if applicable a surface treatment will always maximize the life and operation of the part or tool.  With this in mind, Lindquist has exclusive service agreements with surface coating and heat-treating professionals.  All of our experienced heat treating and coating vendors feature well maintained and state of the art equipment and numerous quality controls to ensure that the highest result is achieved.
